and he later dropped the fish back in the pond.

The Yellow Crowned Night Herons are back!

Pelican

A wonderful bird is the pelican. His bill will hold more than his belly can. He can take in his beak, Food enough for a week, I’m damned if I know how the hell he can!”

Injured Great Blue Heron

I saw this heron on Sunday at the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and he was limping. It must have hurt his left leg or foot. See how it is not putting weight on that leg?

I reported it to various authorities. The Heron did not otherwise appear to be in distress and he was able to fly. I suppose hunting will be a bit more difficult, but I hope it gets some help and/or manages to heal quickly.
